From International Cat Care
As an owner, you have a huge impact on the health and wellbeing of your cat. By undertaking routine preventive healthcare, through all stages – from kittens through to old age – you can ensure your cat stays as healthy as possible. You can also prevent problems arising or maximise the chance of early detection of any illness, when much more can be done.
Today marks ‘Take Your Cat to the Vet Day’ so we’re raising awareness of the importance of routine and preventive veterinary care.
We know taking your cat to the vet can be extremely stressful for both the cat, and for you.
For this reason, owners may be put off from taking their cats to see a vet and even avoid it entirely. Indeed, veterinary staff see a substantially lower number of cats visiting the clinic than dogs. This is why we launched the Cat Friendly Clinic programme in 2012, to create more cat friendly veterinary clinics and so reducing the stress for the cat and making veterinary visits easier for cat owners as well.
